In May 2025, Logan City Council plans to undertake thermal drone surveys in Birnam Range Reserve in Mundoolun, Jimboomba and Tamborine.
The drones will capture images to assess critical wildlife habitats and identify the presence of koalas and greater gliders. The information we gather will help us protect and manage these species and ensure their long-term survival and resilience.
The survey will be conducted by a team of experienced professionals who will ensure minimal disturbance to the wildlife, residents and the surrounding environment.
This project is funded by the Department of Environment, Technology, Science and Innovation.
