Loganlea-Meadowbrook Infrastructure (SEQ City Deal)

The suburbs of Loganlea and Meadowbrook are set to benefit from exciting new projects under the City Deal Agreement, aimed at enhancing these areas into a vibrant and connected health and wellbeing precinct.

The Loganlea – Meadowbrook Infrastructure (SEQ City Deal) projects on key priorities such as:

  • Improve Mobility: Improving key walking and cycling routes within the centre to make it easier to get around, especially where access to public transport such as the new train station and bus stops. Interventions will also look to balance the impact of traffic across the centre and seek to create a logical, efficient and safe road network for all users.
  • Healthy & Wellbeing: Meadowbrook is recognised as a key health hub within the region and the City Deals agreement will seek to reinforce this evolving character and ensure that new development enhances healthy lifestyles for both residents and visitors to the centre.
  • Environmental Improvement: Enhancing the health and environmental performance of the activity centre will be a priority. There will be opportunities for urban greening, ecological connectivity, flood resilience, and safety improvements.

This initiative is a collaborative effort between local, state, and federal governments to unlock the potential of Loganlea and Meadowbrook by enhancing infrastructure, connectivity, and opportunities for community and businesses.

Loganlea – Meadowbrook Infrastructure (SEQ City Deal) in Context’

The City Deals work is not happening in isolation, this new work builds upon key place making efforts within the centre dating back to the Meadowbrook Summit in 2018 and the subsequent Meadowbrook Implementation Plan. Key delivered projects such as the Loganlea Healthy Street project, the Armstrong Place East revitalisation and the Hope Stairs project were key demonstrations of the potential of the Meadowbrook centre.

Identified City Deal Initiatives

As part of the funding application the parties to the City Deal Agreement have agreed on several of the initiatives that will be delivered as part of this work. The works agreed are inclusive of:

  • Strategic analysis of the form, function and performance of Loganlea Road and potential for network upgrades
  • Streetscape upgrades of Armstrong Road, Valencia Street, Logandowns Drive, Nestor Drive, Nealdon Drive, Edenlea Drive and University Drive
  • New road connections between Logan Hospital and TAFE campus
  • Signalisation of intersection of Loganlea Road and Kratz Avenue
  • Public Art and Creative Lighting interventions
  • Mobility Hub
  • Safety Strategy
